A year and a half for his visa to get approved! Yep. That’s how long Merissa waited for her love to fly over from Germany. I know her pain. My husband being Australian struggled through our American system for over a year as well before he finally got his visa approved. We dated long distance more than we dated in the same city! Oh man. I remember that like it was yesterday. I think you develop a deep relationship given that 98% of your relationship is conversation via email, letters, pictures and calls. Ralph and Merissa met in Germany during her visit with her sister who was living out there for a year for her husbands job. They had a short and sweet ceremony in Ben Lomond with seven of Merissa’s family members present. Her friend came to support her getting ready efforts and help coordinate- great help! While Merissa ran late (as many brides do) we were still able to spend time doing couple’s portraits and bridal portraits of her in her vintage gown she found second hand. She looked so elegant and lovely.

Merissa slipped into a little polka-dot dress before they all headed out to lunch at Chaminade to celebrate.

Kristin’s whole wedding is themed around Tiffany & Co. She is in love with their blue and bling. Who isn’t?! With her wedding in Carmel at La Playa Hotel, she wanted their e-session in Carmel as well. So we started downtown before heading to the beach for sunset.

Kathy + Gabe are getting hitched up at the regal Hollins House this summer. I’m so looking forward to seeing all the beautiful details she’s dreamt up with the team over at Coastside Couture. Hollin House is a favorite venue of mine as I’m in love with oak trees and the ceremony site is below a big beautiful one. The venue also over looks the Monterey Bay which is another love of my life. There is a old classic feel to the Hollins House inside that draws you in but keeps you gazing into that big Pacific.
Kathy really wanted her engagement session at a winery. She said was nervous about her shoot and asked about grabbing drinks before hand. Of course, I’ll join you!
So we kicked off their session with a little wine love to loosen them up. We caught the leaves changing color last fall and made our way around the ground at Thomas Forgarty which boast not just beautiful vineyards but a little pond and a fun vintage truck.

Pre-wedding season is a fun time to knock out engagement sessions and pick up some portrait work. Danielle came over the hill to a blustering day on the coast. While it was freezing and windy, I don’t think she showed it a bit. In fact, I love the wind in her hair and skirt. I love movement in photos. I feel like it brings life to an image.
I’ll be seeing these two again for some newborn photos shortly. Shoot me an email if you’re interested in checking out my portrait collections for a mom or soon to be mom in your life! They make a great gift and I offer gift certificates as well. Mother’s Day is coming up- what are you getting?!

Ah, my favorite moments are usually the candid ones, as is this. After shooting a few angeles of her posed here in the doorway, it was this one that took my breath away as she picked up her dress to leave for the reception. I absolutely love how feminine and effortless her beauty translates here.

I love getting the invites to the weddings I book. One – it’s fun! Two – I photograph it and it’s one less thing for the bride to remember to bring on her wedding day for photos.
Kathy did such a beautiful job on invites. It’s a little sneak peek of all the burlap and lace to come.
It totally made my WHOLE day to receive something so pretty and lovely all packaged up! I
sn’t snail mail fun?

Carin and Scott’s mountaintop wedding got picked up over at The Lovely Bay.
It was such a beautiful afternoon up on the hill top. Carin did a fabulous job with her girls on all the flowers. I loved the mix of bridesmaids dresses and soft colors in the tall field. We all had a spectacular view over looking the bay from Mt. Tamalpais. It was a gorgeous place to get wed! As we came down the mountain to the waterfront reception at Servino Grill, we caught the sunset slipping into the sea. A perfect ending to a perfect day.

I love how emotionally charged this photo is- especially since I’ve lost my grandma. My grandma made it to my last brothers wedding and passed 3 months later. We were all so grateful for that. Carin’s grandma signed as a witness that day. I love to see generations of family together! How beautiful a moment.
The classic old meets new.

Jennifer and Toy are getting hitched this August at her grandparents property up in Pescadero. I’m so excited for their big day, especially after a little walk through of the place before our engagement session. It’s so fun to see the before of a space before it gets transformed into a brides vision for her big day. Jennifer’s going to rock cowboy boots, have the guest seated in a circle for the ceremony and have a set of doors cover her until she makes it out to the big field she’s getting married at. There is this beautiful tree with hanging moss at the ceremony site with a creek wrapping past the whole area. So pretty- can’t wait. We had such a blast this day. We started up in Pescadero just down the road from her grandparents place and then headed south to Panther Beach for sunset.
