I’m kick starting 2014 off with engagement sessions this fall with some amazing couples, starting with Natalie and Erik. Natalie told me the story of Erik’s sweet proposal up at his parents place. His family has a beautiful piece of property that looks out to the Monterey Bay with ponds, cows, rolling hills and oak trees. There is nothing I love more than oak trees and sun drenched fields in the great wide open. To be a little boy growing up here must have been heaven. I could see my son, Luke lost for hours chasing critters, sneaking around cows and poking at the unknown with sticks. What a sweet little get away they have to sneak off to when life gets too busy in the valley. We too have a piece of property that my grandpa left us that I treasure so much. It fills me with so many memories and brings such a calmness to me when we get to drive up to it and get away from the crazy busy grind of life. Even if it’s just for a Sunday afternoon. It’s no wonder Erik drove her to a top of the hillside to find some quietness where he set up a little table with wine and flowers before unblindfolding Natalie to propose. These two are so in love, it’s effortless to capture. Thanks for making my job so easy guys! I had so much fun exploring the property with you guys- can’t wait to hang again soon for some more photos.
