ENGAGED | Jennifer + Tony

Thursday, February 28th, 2013

Jennifer and Toy are getting hitched this August at her grandparents property up in Pescadero.  I’m so excited for their big day, especially after a little walk through of the place before our engagement session.  It’s so fun to see the before of a space before it gets transformed into a brides vision for her big day.  Jennifer’s going to rock cowboy boots, have the guest seated in a circle for the ceremony and have a set of doors cover her until she makes it out to the big field she’s getting married at.  There is this beautiful tree with hanging moss at the ceremony site with a creek wrapping past the whole area. So pretty- can’t wait.  We had such a blast this day.  We started up in Pescadero just down the road from her grandparents place and then headed south to Panther Beach for sunset.

ENGAGED | Brian + Lisa

Friday, July 1st, 2011

Lisa and Brian took me to where he proposed to her, a beach near Ano Nuevo called Stumpy’s.  I always love asking couples about how they met and how they got engaged.  They are both there chiming in on who thought what, who said what and the two sides to every story always comes out.  These two are so easy to hang with-  I’m totally looking forward to their wedding!  They have an AMAZING 16 inches difference (it could be 18, I forget), so we tried a few tricks to close the gap.  We had Lisa on hay bales, jumping into his arms, seated, perched on the up hill of the sand doons to name a few.  Before on the sand doons, we stopped off at Pie Ranch cuz I saw the fog ahead and wanted a little sunshine for their session.  After the goats and hay bales… we headed north.  Ano had stunning landscape all around us with some fog creeping in overhead and the moon on the rise.  They braved the cold, wet, and wind and hopefully had a little fun along the way. Here are a few from their session…

Love this one.

FAMILY SESSION | One Years Old Allison

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

Allison is one.  Yeah!!  So fun.  Out for her fourth photo shoot this year, she’s really getting the hang of it.  Not to mention she’s learning to walk now and ready to explore the world.  Her adoring parents love on her every second of the shoot so who wouldn’t be a happy smiling bub!

Check out her boots!

Is this kid for real?

ENGAGED | Swanton Berry Farm

Thursday, November 18th, 2010

Michael and Jenny are getting married on 1-1-11!!!  Whoo hooo.  I can’t wait.  Winter fun.  I’m certain it will be filled with many thought out DIY details.  I’m very much looking forward to their big day and photographing all the fun little things that her and her family are working on.  When we talked about photo locations for their engagement session, they told me they love to visit Swanton Berry Farm up the coast from me, so we headed there for their engagement session.  It’s double special because it’s where Michael proposed to her.  Perfect spot.  Games, barns, grass, open roads and fields.  It couldn’t get much sweeter.  But it did.  They bought me tacos after our session in Davenport.  Such a fun day- Thanks guys!  I had a great time wandering Swanton with you two and have got it in my back pocket for some rainy fun for my kids.  I mean, come on… board games, children’s books, and free jam samples on animal crackers.  Sorry, I just spilled the secret spot.

The Farm keeps an “old school blog” in their store where guest write an entry about their visit.  And so it goes…

In Love.

Yep- she’s BEAUTIFUL.

There is also a secret reservoir that the owner insisted we go check out.  So we did.  It’s picnic worthy.  Next time.  Quilt, wine, love.

MARRIED | Brad + Cierra

Monday, September 27th, 2010

Cierra picked out a lovely venue at Monte Verde Inn.  It is a sweet sweet little place tucked away in the hills of Auburn just past the north fork of the American River.  The wedding coordinator and owner, Kelly is beyond meticulous in her attention to detail and taking care of her bride (and vendors)!  The Inn sleeps ten plus people and makes for a nice destination wedding.  Her and her husband bought the real estate and have done a beautiful job on the grounds.  They have everything from wrought iron gates, fountains, a barn, ivy, green lawns, tree lined driveways, and even a vineyard!  Very picturesque.  She took me on a Kodak tour in a heartbeat which was very kind of her given I had never worked that venue.

Cierra’s day began with an emotional reunion with her dad.  She hadn’t seen him in five years.  While he had come to town and connected with her a few days prior to the wedding… time had really slipped away and she blew him away with her beauty!!  He mentioned something along the lines of how much she’s changed since her days in shorts and a ball cap.  I’m so happy to have been able to witness such a beautiful moment between two people.  Cierra you’re beautiful.  Inside and out.  Way to blow them all away.

Brad and Cierra are one of those couples that grew up together.  Saw each other at annual holiday events and never thought much of it until…. well, one family holiday day it just all clicked.  Related by family, but not family by relation, the two began dating and the rest is history.

The groomsman organized a game for the newlyweds in the crowd.  The quiz show went something like this…. “Using a name of a candy, describe your wife.”

Good answer Matt!
