VENDOR LOVE | Companion Bakery

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011

Companion Bakeshop moved into the vacant spot near Another Bike Shop off Mission.  Starting from a simple commercial space that sold their fresh breads at farmers markets, Jeremy and his wife, Erin have now expanded to a shop serving fresh baked goods of all kinds and great coffee.  They exclusively serve Lulu’s coffee.  Yum!  When I first popped in that morning, they had the fresh loaves of dough covered with towel and ready to go into the brick oven.  That is what really made me want to go grab my camera.  That and their drip coffee.  I thought it would be fun to photograph some drip coffee.  I love that a beach cruiser was parked out front when I arrived and I was able to get some sun flare shining on their sign.  It so encapsulates the sunny Santa Cruz lifestyle.   Check out the sweet write up in the Sentinel to learn more and go check out their beautiful fresh new space for yourself!

MARRIED | A Vintage Faith Wedding PART II

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

Part two of Michael and Jenny’s wedding continues with their church ceremony and a cookie filled dessert bar in the coffee shop with some open mic action after dinner.

Here comes the bride…

First sight. Just breath.

This was awesome… her brother was in abroad, so they skyped him in with wife and new baby.  He watched the WHOLE ceremony and followed up throughout the reception.  He was the featured activity throughout the evening, with different people putting on earphones and having a chat.  This pic is after I finished all the family formals…. we got a virtual family formal.  So great!

Nana handmade all these Italian tea cookies.  What a gift!!!

Open mic began with a string of talent and a few eclectic readings from the bride’s family.  A great alternative to the usual dance party!

Jenny manages this whole coffee shop , THE ABBEY.  So it was only appropriate to photograph her ring on coffee beans and her to be with a drink in hand.

Dance party in the coffee house…

The coffee house crew! Be sure to come check out THE ABBEY in Santa Cruz, California.
