MARRIED | In N Out

Thursday, October 28th, 2010

Eric and Elizabeth flew me in and out of LA to shoot their wedding.  They played funny out takes from marriage scenes in movies and then played his proposal to her on the big screen as guest filled the church.  Great idea.  Music fill their day a it is a huge piece of Eric’s world given he  is the worship leader at the Glenkirk Church.  I have to say, it’s something I value so much is the since of community that is universal with Christ.  As they played worship songs as we milled around the church for gettting ready… it felt like I was home.  Sweet stuff.  Eric’s buddies played live music throughout the cake reception that followed the ceremony for all the church family and friends.  They had a cotton candy machine, sweet tea, lemonade, and some cake.  It was a great way to celebrate with a big crowd before moving over to a more intimate reception at the Monrovia Historial Museum.  I had Kelli from Santa Barbara come second shoot with me along with a friend, Stacy who wanted to give weddings a go.  Kellie is currently studying at Brooks University to master her art.  She has the biggest heart with a sweet sweet voice of a 12 year old. ;)  She told me when she called to inquire about adopting a puppy, the man on the phone told her she needed an adult to come in with her.  Ha.  Love you Kel- all the best to you and your biz!

Liz lost her dad about a month before her wedding day, but carried him with her in a locket tied to her bouquet that held two sweet baby photos.

“Love is something eternal; the aspect may change, but not the essence” ~ Vincent Van Gogh

Liz found this old gas station across the way from the reception location where we had a fun session with perfect golden light pouring in from the left before joining the party.  It was a favorite part of my day besides the In n Out Burger.  The couple sessions usually allow some freedom and creativity for me, but more importantly it’s usually when my couples relax and just have fun with each other.  I think it’s a mini moment away from the business of the wedding day and they get to bask in the fact that they just got hitched and finally exhale!  I love watching them celebrate love and beauty in that moment.  It’s a joy to watch you two be in love.

Liz you’re really cute when you scrunch up your nose…

Days of our Lives.

It was the first time I’d seen an In N Out Burger truck at a wedding, but I hear it’s popular down south.  It’s a great way to feed a crowd with a little character and fun wrapped into your big day.  I’m fully passing that idea along to my brides.

Thank you guys for a fabulous wedding!  I had a heap of fun.  Blessings to you both.
